Kids
Can BE A Resource
We at BEAR…BE A Resource for CPS kids feel that is important
to get the youth involved in volunteering. Kids Can BE A Resource,
Too is a great way for your scout troop, school, or individual child
to get involved with BEAR.
Projects
such as bagging hygiene items, putting together baby hygiene packs,
birthday bags, Easter baskets, stuffed animal drives, and Birthdays
for BEAR are just a few of the many ways that Kids Can BE A Resource,
Too!
Following
are a list of fun ways that kids can BE A Resource for CPS Kids.
- Prepare
“Birthday’s in a Box” for a child who
has never had a birthday party. Include: cake mix, icing, plates,
napkins, hats, favors and a small gift. Pick a theme and go for
it (Barbie, Sponge Bob, Hot Wheels...)
- Christmas
Toy Drive: Get your church, neighbors or school involved
in collecting new gifts for children ages 0 to 17.
- Prepare
a "Fun Pack" for children who are going into
a foster home.
Include: books, games, and stuffed animals
- Host
a hygiene/baby item/cleaning supply drive at your school.
- Use
stuffed animals/books/sports equipment as decorations at
your birthday party/bar mitzvah/bat mitzvah or other event and donate
them to the BEAR Room.
If you
would like to help kids in need by doing a service project or just
donating new items such as clothing, fleece jackets, and hygiene items,
